Erin Cummings, actress and Founder of Mittens for Detroit, gained international visibility in her role as “Sura,” the wife of “Spartacus” in the Starz hit series, Spartacus: Blood and Sand and will be starring in the new CBS series, Made In Jersey, this Fall.
A graduate of the University of North Texas with a degree in Journalism, Cummings began her professional acting career when she was spotted by an L.A. talent scout while performing in community theater near Dallas. She furthered her acting education at The London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art, where she specialized in Shakespearean Studies.
Erin recently completed work on the 2013 drama, “The Iceman,” with Michael Shannon, Chris Evans, James Franco and Winona Ryder. Her recent television appearances include guest leads on the USA series Common Law and the TNT series Major Crimes. She was a series regular on ABC’s Detroit 187, had recurring roles on Pan Am & Mad Men and starred in the FOX webisode series, The Ropes, which was written, directed and produced by Vin Diesel. Her previous television work includes a series regular role on the second season of Dante's Cove, a guest lead turn on Cold Case, a recurring role on Dollhouse, and guest appearances on Star Trek: Enterprise, Threshold, Charmed and Nip/Tuck. She also starred in the cult grindhouse feature Bitch Slap, which premiered at the Toronto Film Festival and has been released in every worldwide territory.
Erin currently resides in Los Angeles and New York, but frequently returns to Detroit for her charity work. In November 2010, Erin founded Mittens For Detroit, a 501(c)(3) non-profit charity that collects and distributes new, unused gloves to in-need children, seniors, veterans and families in Detroit during the winter.
